How do we define scam?
The most general meaning for the term is "getting money by fraud".
Anastasia Intl is the first and only agency to tackle the issue of scam protection head-on. This page explains briefly our anti-scam tactics by giving a generalized example of how AnastasiaWeb scam protection system works.
The standard procedure for AnastasiaWeb clients-newcomers is to list personal information in an online profile and then write the first "introductory letter" where they describe themselves and their life in detail, what they are looking for in a mate, etc.
The client receives replies from ladies, chooses among them those appealing to him most and writes back. Thus, letters start to flow, and AnastasiaWeb email forwarding system links men in America with ladies in Eastern Europe who are represented by over 450 local agencies in the ladies' home towns.
Meanwhile, at AnastasiaWeb, the anti-scam process is in full swing. All the letters sent through AnastasiaWeb are screened automatically by special filters reacting to key-words like “money”, “$”, etc. All suspicious letters are then checked separately.
AnastasiaWeb strongly urges our clients to immediately report anything that seems even a little bit strange in their correspondence. Among the most important red flags there are cases like:
- the lady openly asks for money or gifts;
- the lady does not call the client by his name (esp. in the first letter);
- the lady/her agency is blacklisted on an anti-scam website;
- the lady asks questions, the answers to which can be easily found in the man’s profile;
- the lady “loves” you already in her third letter;
- the lady’s letters contain repeated paragraphs, etc.
Whenever there is any suspicion of scam activity going on, AnastasiaWeb client should immediately report his doubts to our support team. And this is where AnastasiaWeb verification team comes up. We are the only agency with a full time staff specifically devoted to reacting to reports of suspicious correspondence that we receive from our clients.
AnastasiaWeb verification team then launches a quick and thorough investigation, documents its findings, report the results to the client involved, and takes appropriate action. The investigation includes, for example, calling the lady personally and asking her if she writes to the client involved or what exactly she wrote to him in this or that letter (to check that she knows the person she writes to or that she writes her letters herself).
There are many other methods used by AnastasiaWeb verification team professionals to check a particular lady in a particular situation. If they estimate the case as that of scam, the lady is immediately deleted from our system and her profile is moved to our black list. The lady’s agency is fined if this is the first case with them. A fourth offense results in the agency being permanently removed from AnastasiaWeb system and blacklisted.
The results of the investigation are then reported to the client. If the situation turns out to be a misunderstanding, the reasons are set forth in detail. If the case is that of scam, the client immediately gets his money back. Ultimately, the successful anti-scam activity depends both on AnastasiaWeb verification team and on our clients’ vigilance.
So never hesitate to report your doubts.
