Ballet theatre and opera house The theatre started its first season in 1974. It can be regarded as the birth of Dnepropetrovsk ballet. The young troupe showed its own version of the brilliant Chaikovsky ballet “The swan lake”. In the 90-th the theatre turned to the works of Ukrainian opera classic and modern music. Since then a wide international audience from Japan , the USA , France etc. got accustomed with the creative handwriting of the theatre.

T. Shevchenkho Ukrainian Musical-Drama theatre T. Shevchenkho Ukrainian Musical-Drama theatre (the first State Drama theatre in Ukraine ) was founded in 1918 and was the first to get the status of state n the country. During the first two years the theatre managed to perform 37 plays! Classical and modern Ukrainian dramatic art Ukrainian reigned on the stage.
