The Kherson theatre was founded April 18, 1884 . In 1936 it was given the name of Ukrainian Regional dramatic theatre, and since 1989 it’s been Nikolay Kulish Dramatic theatre. This famous culture centre gives pleasure to the region inhabitants throughout the years. Its scene remembers performances of A. Saksaganskiy, M. Kropivnitskiy, V. Meyerhold.

Cultural educational traditions are introduced by the First All-Ukrainian festival of the best musical premieres “Tauria Melpomena” which was founded by the director of the theatre Honoured culture worker of Ukraine A.A. Kniga. Every season theatres of Lvov , Kiev , Odessa , Ternopol , Poltava , Lugansk and the troupe of N. Kulish Regional Ukrainian music-drama theatre create holiday mood for guests and citizens.
