The theatre was founded by E.Vakhtangov in 1921. It's famous with its Russian and world classic plays staging: "Princess Turandot" of C.Gozzi (1922), "Egor Bulychyov and others" of M.Gorky (1932), "Intervention" of L.Slavin (1933), "Much ado about nothing" of W.Shakespeare (1936), "Cyrano de Bergerac" of E.Rostand (1942) and others. The theatre is located in a building of the 19th century.

Theatre "Sovremennik"
Today "Sovremennik" theater is famous all over the country. The theater is located in an elegant building on Chistye Prudy. Moscow Operetta (Theatre of operetta)
The theatre was founded in 1927 in order to develop the genre of modern domestic musical comedies. The repertoire has both classic operettas and modern musicals. In various times brilliant actors worked here - T.Shmyga, Z.Ivanova, K.Kuzmina, Yu.Bogdanov, V.Bogachyov, G.Vasilyev, S.Varguzova. The building of the theatre was constructed in the 19th century.

The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre
The theatre was founded in 1940 when two music theatres united. "Stasik" (as the visitors call it) is the second after the Bolshoy theatre. But this tiny theatre has its own inexpressiable beauty. Stagings are good. Swan Lake here has always been considered the best in Moscow . Stasik is the right place to start acquainting with opera and ballet.
